The Aruba S2500-48P Mobility Access Switch is a new class of product that brings user role-based access to wired networks. It connects up to 384 Gigabit Ethernet devices, as well as any 802.11n Wi-Fi access point, and applies policies to wired users and devices based on contextual data such as user roles, device types, applications, and location. As part of the Aruba Mobile Virtual Enterprise (MOVE) architecture, it delivers secure, virtualized access services to users independent of their location, access method, device, or application.
With 48 PoE+ ports and four 10GbE SFP+ uplink/stacking ports, the S2500-48P eliminates performance degradation and traffic congestion at the access layer. Two of the four SFP+ ports can be used to create an ArubaStack with up to 40Gbps of stack bandwidth, while the remaining ports serve as uplinks to the LAN core. Its compact form factor and quiet operation make it ideal for branch offices and larger wiring closets alike.
The HP JW670-61001 delivers high-density PoE+ access connectivity combined with intelligent, role-based policy enforcement, making it a strong fit for enterprises that need more than simple port-based switching. Its 400W PoE budget comfortably powers IP phones, wireless access points, and security cameras across all 48 ports, while ArubaStack lets multiple switches operate as a single logical unit. Deep integration with Aruba ClearPass and Mobility Controllers also extends centralized wireless policy enforcement to the wired network. Here are the key benefits this switch brings to your infrastructure:
Choosing a certified HP Aruba Mobility Access Switch helps ensure dependable performance and consistent, policy-driven security across your wired network. The JW670-61001 combines HP's trusted engineering with Aruba's MOVE architecture, extending the same contextual, role-based access control used in wireless networks to wired ports. Its ArubaStack support and high-capacity switching fabric also make it easy to scale as your access layer grows. Here's what sets it apart from generic alternatives:
This switch is well-suited for enterprises and branch offices that need high-density, policy-enforced wired access alongside PoE support for phones, cameras, and access points. Its compact, quiet design and stacking capability also make it a practical fit for larger wiring closets and multi-switch deployments. Common deployment scenarios include:
It has 48x 10/100/1000Base-T PoE+ ports, plus 4 SFP/SFP+ ports supporting 1GbE or 10GbE uplinks.
It offers up to 400W of total PoE+ power, with up to 30W available per port.
Yes, it supports ArubaStack, allowing switches to be interconnected with up to 40Gbps of stack bandwidth using the SFP+ ports.
It offers a 176Gbps switching capacity with a forwarding rate of up to 131 million packets per second.
It's a Mobility Access Switch that applies role-based access policies to wired users and devices, integrating with Aruba ClearPass and Mobility Controllers for unified wired/wireless security.
