The KIOXIA KCD8XRUG3T84 is a high-capacity 3.84-terabyte TLC NVMe enterprise solid-state drive using a PCIe 4.0 x4 interface in the SFF 2.5-inch U.2 form factor, from KIOXIA's CD8 Series enterprise NVMe SSD line. PCIe 4.0 x4 delivers up to 28Gbps of interface bandwidth — double that of PCIe 3.0 x4 — enabling the CD8 series to achieve sequential read speeds exceeding 6,800 MB/s and sequential write speeds exceeding 4,000 MB/s for demanding enterprise storage workloads.
The 3.84TB capacity in the SFF 2.5-inch U.2 NVMe form factor provides very high storage density per drive bay, enabling enterprise servers to achieve terabyte-scale all-flash storage configurations from a relatively small number of U.2 NVMe drive bays. NVMe's lower protocol overhead compared to SAS provides better CPU efficiency for storage I/O operations, and PCIe 4.0's doubled bandwidth addresses the throughput limitations of PCIe 3.0 for the fastest NVMe SSDs.
The KCD8XRUG3T84 is designed for enterprise servers supporting PCIe 4.0 NVMe, including HPE ProLiant Gen10+ with U.2 NVMe drive bays; Dell PowerEdge Gen14/Gen15 with PCIe 4.0 NVMe support and other platforms featuring U.2/U.3 NVMe slots with PCIe 4.0 capability. Enterprise-grade features include power loss protection, end-to-end data path protection, T10 DIF (Data Integrity Field) support, and comprehensive NVMe management extensions for enterprise health monitoring and lifecycle management.
The KCD8XRUG3T84 uses PCIe 4.0 x4 NVMe interface providing up to 28Gbps bandwidth per drive.
